I'm looking to buy Photoshop Elements 9 and I was wondering if there was a place I would be able to download it besides the Adobe website. I see a lot of websites when I search "download photoshop" in Google, but these sites look unprofessional and I do not want a virus.

Not possible - Adobe software is only legally downloadable from Adobe...
If you see it anywhere else, it's not a legit copy.
Don't trust Adobe torrents or hacked ddownload photoshop elementsownloads - most are backdoored
If you're looking for cheaper options, check the current sales
You can go to reputable sites like Newegg, Amazon, and other online stores. They have downloadable versions for sale.
Hint: Be sure you don't pay much for Elements because it might not work for long. Here's a section from the first page of Elements User's Agreement. (Capitalization is Adobe's)
