I don't want to download any software, but I don't want songs that no one wants (aka beginning artists that are putting out their first experimental recordings).
Does any place exsist out there where I can get free legal downloads of popular songs.
Oh, and is getting the audio off of a youtube video legal?
Since Spiralfrog.com shut down i haven't been able to find a free site that didnt make you jump through hoops to get your music...but media fire is really good. you just search for the artists name, song, or album in yahoo,google, or whatever your fav. search engine is and you'll be able to find what you're looking for(...and yes its legal) i think the youtube thing is legal as long as youre not selling the audio tracks but its a lot more work
Briana B: there are free music sites out there legal free music downloads mp3they use ads to pay for the music so you dont have to the only downfall is that a lot of these sites have super annoying ads getting in the way of you have to fill out these trial offers and all that..which is why i do the medafire thing

Ummm, no. why do you think that there would be such a "place" on the internet? Other people (also on the internet) pay money for popular music - why do you think the people who own the rights to that music would give away what many people pay for? Unless the intellectual property holder agrees to give away that music (which dolegal free music downloads mp3es happen - pay attention to their websites) then you have no right to get that music.
About the only possibly legal way of getting music off the internet (incl. just downloading it from YouTube) is to use programs like audacity to record streaming audio.
In short, you can get music for free and music legally, but almost never at the same time.
If you decide to skip the legal part, whatever you do, ignore any idiot who haws either limewire or frostwire - both can expose your computer to malware attack.
